From Kolkata to classrooms, Mayukh's guitar journey is a testament to the power of music. His passion ignited at age ten under the tutelage of Robin Mukherjee, where he mastered the acoustic Hawaiian guitar, blending Indian and Western styles. He earned a diploma in guitar from the West Bengal Music Board. His early performances foreshadowed a lifelong dedication.
Mayukh's focus evolved to acoustic and classical guitar, with a specialization in fingerstyle techniques. Inspired by the transformative "guitar before guns" program, he discovered a calling: to share his musical gift.
Mayukh began teaching his daughter, Gigi, and has since guided numerous students of all ages, introducing them to diverse musical genres. His teaching emphasizes fingerstyle on acoustic and classical guitars, tailored for beginners and intermediate players.
More than just lessons, Mayukh fosters a community. Students connect, jam together, and embark on their unique musical paths. Many have showcased their talents at local events, with some successfully auditioning for jazz and school bands. Beyond guitar, Mayukh often introduces students to bass and other instruments, broadening their musical horizons. He's not just teaching guitar; he's cultivating a lifelong love of music.
